The One Who Takes Away the Ego is Omnipresent Purush

Questioner:
What do they mean when they say ‘ Virat Swaroop' (omnipresent form)?

Dadashri: The one who takes away other people's ego is a Virat Purusha (omnipresent being).

Questioner: Does the ego leave when one has darshan of the Virat ?

Dadashri: Only when one's ego disappears can it be said that he has done darshan of Virat Swaroop .

Questioner: Is getting Gnan the same thing as the darshan of Virat Swaroop ?

Dadashri: The darshan of the Virat is to understand the Gnani Purush . The real definition of the Virat Svaroop is one who can destroy your ego. And what is the benefit of that? He makes you a Virat Svaroop too. Without the presence of the Virat Svaroop , no one surrenders. Lord Krishna showed Arjun such a Virat Svaroop and that is when Arjun conceded. He would not have otherwise.

It is written: “He takes away our ego even when he does not have the strength to break a papad (savory wafer)!” One man said to me, “Dada, it is true that you have completely taken away my ego.” That is the virat purush ! And people look for the virat purush in books! The virat purush is one who takes away your ego. Who else can you call a virat purush ? This is a short and clear-cut explanation. People ask me if I had the desire to become a virat purush . Why would I want to become ‘possessed' by such a thing by adding credentials like M.B. or B.S? Do I appear to be someone who would want to be possessed by such a thing?

Even after hundreds of thousands of lifetimes, the ego will not go. This is not the only thing. However, when there is a presence of a virat svaroop , he will remove all our egos. He is the one who has no buddhi (intellect) at all. He does not have even an atom of buddhi in him. He can prod you this way and get rid of your ego one way or another; he will deflate the air out of the ‘tires' completely. Only the one whose ego has been completely dissolved can take away the ego of others. Such a person is called ‘virat purusha'. The one who can get rid of his own ego is a Gnani and the one who can get rid of the ego in others, is a virat purush .
