Questioner: Dada, say something about Lord Krishna.
Dadashri: Where do we even begin talking about Lord Krishna? He became God from an ordinary human being. People have not understood Him at all and they accuse Him of frolicking with the Gopis (female cowherds) . People have painted all kinds of pictures of Him. But when we talk about Him we are taking about the Yogeshwar Krishna.
Lord Krishna was an extraordinary purush ; he was a Vasudev and is going to be one of the Tirthankars in the next cycle of twenty-four Tirthankars . He was a Nyashthik Brahmachari (celibate through nischaya, inner intent) he was the epitome of a celibate.
Questioner: What is a Nyashthik Brahmachari?
Dadashri: Nyashthik Brahmachari is someone within whom the desire for absolute celibacy burns. There is non-celibacy in his external conduct (i.e. his discharging karmas), but from within, he is creating causes for absolute, unbroken celibacy. Despite having 1600 queens, he was a nayshthik brahmachari . I will explain how this can be. A man steals things but if from within he constantly feels he does not want to steal, then he is regarded as nyashthik achoriya (non-stealing). The importance is on what is being charged within.
One man gives a donation, but from within, he is constantly scheming as to how he can pilfer from other people, then his donation goes in vain. What you perceive and see through your senses is of no importance as far as binding new karmas is concerned, but the bhaav (inner intent within) is what dictates the charging of new karmas, and that is what really counts.
Questioner: So then why do they call Lord Krishna ' Charitravan' (one with good character)?
Dadashri: He was a Nyashthik Brahmachari . On the contrary, his conduct has been criticized as negative conduct ( dushcharitra ). But Lord Krishna was a Vasudev . A Vasudev means he can enjoy everything but he also has the right to go to Moksha . Such beings are phenomenal beings.
