The Idol is a Representative of the Pratyaksh (the Living Lord)

I do not believe in building temples, or derasars of those who are no longer present. I believe in the temples of those who are currently present. Simandhar Swami is currently present and that is why His temples should be built. Only the ones who are present can be called derasar . Otherwise all others are called ‘murtis' (an idol). You cannot call this murti (Simandhar Swamin's idol) a ‘murti', you have to call it ‘pratyaksh' (the one that is present).

The idol of Simandhar Swami is considered a representative of Him and not a murti of Him. Murtis are created to sing praise of those who are no longer present. Kalapriya (work of art) is considered a murti . Representative means that it is fulfilling form of who is living and present. This murti is considered a representative of Simandhar Swami.

You bind punya (merit karma) by worshipping a murti and this is not a murti ; it is a representative, therefore it is punyanubandhi punya, (the highest kind of merit karma, i.e. current good deeds that bind good deeds for the next life), which will take you to Moksha . Lord Mahavir's can be considered a murti . Lord Mahavir is considered a Siddha Bhagwan (one who has achieved complete liberation from cycles of birth and death), whereas this Lord Simandhar Swami is currently present. How long will this picture of Dada be beneficial? It represents Dada, as long as Dada Bhagwan is still present. After that, it is considered a murti . The fruit of worshipping a murti is punya (merit Karma) and nothing else. This murti will remain as the representative of the Lord for a long time. Many people will be blessed, whether or not they understand that the Lord is present. If you put your hand on a hotplate would you not immediately experience its ‘fruit', even if you had no knowledge that it was hot? Would you not suffer the consequences? Similarly, there are always consequences of deeds done in ignorance; therefore it is good that the Lord's derasars are built. Everyone should have a desire and an intention to do so. There is nothing else to be done. Give and take is the play of inner energy; it is a play of outburst of love and desire. However, you should support it and it if materializes, it is good, nothing else.

Questioner: One cannot acquire Moksha without a sadguru (the ultimate guru), can he?

Dadashri: A sadguru is an instrument for taking you to Moksha . The miseries people currently suffer will go away, changes will continue to occur in the fruition of their punyas . Therefore, even the poor will not experience any misery. How much misery these people are trapped in! Then, at least there will be Moksha for them. When a person has a sadguru there will be some benefit, but if he does not, then the poor fellow will at least enjoy his own punya . He will at least bind good karmas. It is more than enough if he does not bind any bad deeds. Everyone does not achieve Moksha , only some do.
