Everyone in Hindustan has said that they want to put a murti of me in the temple, but I said no. If I did that, people that follow (after me) would get what they want. They would do the same. Someone else would try to do the same thing.
Questioner: Our main goal would be lost.
Dadashri: So there is no need to put my murti (idol). I am myself murta (with form), whenever you look. All these murtis that have been placed are of people that have come before. Murtis of two kinds of people have been placed here. The real Purush (i.e. pure people or saints), and mooda Purush (i.e. the Gnanis , the Tirthankars or self-enlightened). So what will happen after you put my murti there? A tradition will start where they will put a murti of whichever Dada that comes along. That is why I have said that if you want to put a murti of me, let it be in front of Simandhar Swami in a seated stance as if I am praying to Him; you can put a murti of that kind.
Questioner: If we have to put a murti , then let it be done that way.
Dadashri: Then it is not a problem, because people will see that Dada has a desire to worship, not be worshipped. So I am not to be worshipped. He (Simandhar Swami) is for worshipping and so you have to worship him. That (the idol of me kneeling to Simandhar Swami) will depict that. I have been worshipped a lot. I am content from being worshipped from countless past lives. I do not have a desire for that at all. The desire to be respected and worshipped is a beggarly need. We can get some resolution if we renounce all such desires.
The saddhus use the terms "My Guru, Dada" (i.e. my guru, my grandfather). Why don't you let go of such words? Here too they use words of worldly relationships, such as 'grandfather'. They also write their names in books and put their idol all over. Even Srimad Rajchandra has said not to make his idols, but people did it all the same.
Questioner: Yes.
Dadashri: Because people thought that later on it would be easy to place a murti of Prabhushri (one of the four disciples of Shrimad). Then after Prahbushri, a murti of Brahmachari (another disciple) will follow.
Questioner: Then will come someone else.
Dadashri: Yes, Krupadudev was a pure man. Prabhushri was pure too. Then they made a mess.
