Questioner: When bowing down to Simandhar Swami, what is the difference between saying "With Dada as my witness" and "bowing down to Simandhar Swami" directly?
Dadashri: The reward of doing it here (with Dada Bhagwan as witness) is much better.
Questioner: We used to say, "I bow down to Simandhar Swami," prior to meeting Dada and after meeting Dada we say the same, what is the difference between the two?
Dadashri: There is a tremendous difference.
Questioner: Can you explain this in detail?
Dadashri: When you keep bowing to the king whom you have not seen, on your own and you bow to the king in the presence of the King's minister, who has seen him, will it not make a difference? The minister would inform the King that you keep praising him, so will you not be rewarded for doing that? You always reap the benefit of praying to famous and renowned saints. You are bound to be rewarded for taking the name. The reward for taking the names of evil people, will be evil and the reward for taking the names of good people, will be good. If the one you praise is living and present, the reward will be great, and praising the one who is no longer living, will bring lesser rewards.
