Questioner: The path of liberation is the path of freedom. There can never be any expectations on such a path, so what is the point in keeping the devas and devis happy?

Dadashri: The reason you keep them happy is because the humans of this kaliyug are purvaviradhak, which means they have aggravated others in their past life, causing them to have wandered around, from one birth to the other, until now. The reason we have to worship them is so that no claims remain (against us) from their part and that they help us and not create any obstacles in our path towards liberation.
