The reason Lord Shiva’s linga was created was so that they could plant bilipatra (a sacred tree), there. But people do not realize that bilipatra has medicinal value and they keep planting them. So if people who have desire for worldly happiness and passions, their passions will go down if they worship shiva and they will make progress.

People with rajo guna worship Vishnu. They cannot still the whole day long.
So these are all tools to suppress sattva, raja, and tamo gunas. Whatever you offer to the Devas has value. They offer leaves of the tulsi plant to Lord Krishna. This plant has the best medicine in it. To Lord Shiva they offer bilipatra, and to Ganesh, they offer dharo (sacred grass). It is said that if you want to make your body as strong as Ganpati’s (Ganesh’s) then you should drink the juice of the sacred grass. So these are all medicines. The leaf of the papal tree has tremendous electrical energy and power.

All this is for the purpose of keeping peace in the worldly life. ‘You’ have become shuddhatma and so now the one who is no longer interested in living in the worldly life, does not need to pay any attention to it. If ‘Chandubhai’ wants to, then he can do so.
