Questioner: All the religions say to come under their (the religion's) shelter. Whose shelter should a one take?

Dadashri: What is essence of all the religions? It is to realize that one is a Pure Soul. The Pure Soul is Lord Krishna, the Pure Soul is Lord Mahavir, and the Pure Soul is the Lord. They say, “Leave all dharmas (attributes) and come and take my shelter.” By that they mean, leave the dharma (the attributes of the body, the mind, and the senses) and come into the attributes of your own Self, which is the religion of the soul. Now people have completely misunderstood this. They think, “My protection” means protection of Lord Krishna. And who do they understand think Lord Krishna is? The one with the flute! This is like taking a topical medication, orally. So how can the doctor be at fault here? People wander in vain (trapped in the cycle of birth and death), because they ‘drank' the medicine!
